Frequently, I would like to feature my friends on the blog. I am extremely blessed to be surrounded by people who have talent overflowing from within. One of those people is Sheila Bizzell.
I only met Sheila a little over a year ago, but I wish she had been in my life from the beginning. I am so excited to share her calligraphy on the blog today! Here's her bio:
"I’m Sheila, a proud wife and dog mom. I live in the small, but lovely, town of Sikeston, Missouri. I’m a project manager at an ad agency by day and a Gilmore Girls binge-watcher by night.
I’m a sucker for pen and paper. I was the kid that practiced my handwriting more than coloring in a coloring book. My favorite part of class was practicing cursive. I was the college student that took all of my notes by hand because typing on a keyboard wasn’t nearly as satisfying gliding a Sharpie pen across my notepad.
So naturally, I’ve always admired the art of modern calligraphy and hand lettering, but it wasn’t until about a year ago when I really started pursuing it as a hobby of my own. I took a hand lettering class at a local boutique, and I was hooked.
Since then I have practiced many different techniques, such as brush lettering and pointed pen calligraphy. I’ve actually just landed my first gig doing calligraphy for a wedding in December.
What has started as an interest has transformed into a passion. It’s funny what happens when you devote meaningful time to something you love."
